Bubonic Plague
The Bubonic Plague (also known as the black death) was a deadly disease spread by rodent fleas. These rodents, especially rats, got to Europe( specifically Italy) by merchant ships. This lasted from around 1347-1352.
The Jewish were blamed for poisoning the water supply and killing off people. This then caused a great amount of prejudice towards the Jews. As a result of this many more people died in the massacre of the Jews, this lowered the population even more. As an effect of the Bubonic Plague many were actually paid more appropriatly, for they had to do their own work and the work of the others that died.
